This is Peter Sachs.

Peter Sachs is a journalist, photographer and flight instructor currently living in Palo Alto, Calif. A recent graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Peter holds an MS in Journalism. He graduated from Whitman College in 2005 with a BA in Sociology.

Peter has been the aviation news editor for the pilot Web site iPilot for the last two years, and most recently interned at Egypt Today magazine in Cairo, Egypt. His past work experience (resume) has included writing for The (Bend, Ore.) Bulletin and the Religion News Service in Washington, D.C., and for the Walla Walla (Wash.) Union-Bulletin. His photographs have appeared in all of the above publications as well.

On the flying side, Peter has spent nearly 400 hours in the left and right seats of small single-engine planes since he started flying in 2002. He is currently a certified flight instructor for single-engine planes; he also holds a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating, allowing him to fly for hire and in clouds and low-visibility conditions.

Though he has taken a hiatus from it in the last year, Peter also enjoys working in theaters and designing lights for theatrical productions. During his time at Whitman, he worked for two years as Harper Joy Theatre's Master Electrician and designed lights for five shows.
